One of those wellness treatments is salt caves.
As the name suggests, salt caves are specially designed spaces where the environment is enriched with salt.

What Are Salt Caves?
A salt cave is a structure meant to mimic naturally occurring salt caves.
However, the cave is kept primarily dark to provide a relaxing, spa-like environment.
Think of the atmosphere as a large, unheated sauna made of salt.
There are also claims about balancing out pH levels and clearing up eczema."

How to Prepare For a Visit
First things first, youll want to make a reservation.
Most caves have limited seating and follow a schedule as far as timed group sessions go.
When securing your booking, take note of how long your session will last.
“At Trove, we offer options between 25- and 55-minute sessions.
Once settled, get ready to relax.
Some salt caves may include guided meditation or music in your experience to set the ambiance.
That being said, Ill admit I had my doubts going into the salt cave.
And that I did.
I was given a blanket to keep me comfortable and warm.
We began the session with our eyes closed as we were walked through an exercise in guided breathwork.
Eye irritation can also occur, with symptoms including redness or stinging.
As always, listening to your body and communicating with your provider during and after your experience is essential.
The Montauk Salt Cave, which I visited, charges $40 per person for each session.
“For general wellness, we recommend carving out time for deep relaxation at least once a week.”
