In talking with the beloved entertainer, his excitement for the brand is palpable.
Keep reading for more musings from this Byrdie Boy.
Tell us about Loved01 and why you started the brand.
Loved01 / Byrdie
That’s the guiding light for everything that we do.
Your skin is glowing.
What’s your secret?
Loved01 / Byrdie
I use Loved01; that’s just a fact.
The only thing I don’t use is our shave cream because I don’t shave myself.
My barber shaves me.
Loved01 / Byrdie
But other than that, I use everything.
You mentioned your barber.
Who’s your barber?
Loved01 / Byrdie
My brother’s my barber!
He’s been with me, cutting my hair since I was about 10.
Do you have a specific skincare routine?
I have a morning routine and a night routine, too.
I moisturize with our Face & Body Moisturizer and Face & Body Oil.
At night, I cleanse and moisturize.
I also use our Cleansing Wipes at night, too.
Are there any beauty practices you and Chrissy do together?
She loves to do extractions on me [laughs].
She sees every blackhead and loves to get her little tweezers out and do extractions.
What’s your must-have beauty treatment?
I’ll get a facial once a month.
My facialist, Louise, is great.
That’s about it.
I don’t do a lot of spa days.
I’m not a massage person; Chrissy is.
Are there any beauty rituals you do with your kids?
We love bath time with them, so that’s like a family ritual.
They come into our bathroom, take a bath, and moisturize with Loved01 products.
It’s a good bonding time.
What’s a typical night like in the Legend household?
We’ll have a glass of wine and watch something.
Sometimes it’s a movie, and sometimes it’s reality TV or a prestige drama.
Either way, we’ll be on the couch, and Chrissy is usually doing some crafting.
I think all of our moisture-focused products are amazing.
We wanted all our products, including our cleansing products, to be hydrating.
I swear by them.
How has your perspective on beauty changed from when you were younger to now?
I think I just care more about it.
As you get older, you know, things fall apart [laughs].
I also now think skincare extends to your body.
It’s all your skin.
What have you learned from being a skincare founder?
It’s a lot of work, and it takes a lot of focus, particularly dealing with retail.
It’s been eye-opening learning the ins and outs of how we work with our retailers.
