It also ensures that your hair is free of tangles and knots so you can achieve optimal curling results.
For example, a 3/4" barrel will create much tighter waves than a 2" barrel.
For a tighter wave, use a smaller barrel.
For a looser wave, go bigger.
Smaller sections allow for more curl definition, as well as more even distribution of heat.
The key here is to keep your hair moving to make it avoid clamp marks from the iron.
